The process has been updated for covered building owners to request additional time to benchmark beyond the September 30th deadline. Covered building owners will now need to submit a “Data Correction Request” form (in the “Benchmarking Requests” category) on the BEPS Portal. In the form, select the “other” reason, and follow these instructions: - If the delay is because you are waiting to receive data from your electric or gas company:
- In the text box, write “Waiting for data from [company name], data requested on [date you submitted the request]”
- In the attachments, include your correspondences with the company
- If the delay is for another reason:
- In the text box, include:
- A description of the issue
- Anticipated reporting date- if you do not specify a reporting date, the Department will assume a 30-day extension period
- In the attachments, include any supporting documentation
